Jared is a screenwriter, filmmaker, educator, and creative director whose work spans film, television, video games, and digital media. A tenured Assistant Professor and Head of the Film/Video and Social Media Programs at Compton College, Jared has also taught at Emerson College, DeSales University, and Salem State University.
His screenwriting has earned recognition from the Academy Nicholl Fellowships, Austin Film Festival, and numerous international film festivals. As Creative Director of Winter Twilight Productions, Jared has written, directed, and produced multiple independent feature films and acclaimed short works, while also developing internationally distributed visual novels released on Steam.
His creative work has been featured by outlets including The New York Times, CNN, NBC, and The Huffington Post. Jared holds an MFA in Screenwriting from Hollins University and a BFA in Film & Television from New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
Fun facts: Jared is a saber fencer, he’s ordained to perform weddings, he plays piano and pentatonic flute, makes amazing berry pies, is one of two people to have voiced SpongeBob SquarePants on Nickelodeon, and has road-tripped to 48 U.S. states.
